Four years ago my life looked significantly different, I was working in the fitness industry and had no idea of the transition I was about to undertake.
My story began when I embarked on building my first house, and this process was anything but smooth sailing. I found myself lost in the maze of choosing between a new build or an established home, exploring countless display villages, and facing the daunting decision of renovations for established homes. I was struggling and felt so overwhelmed that I almost stopped and abandoned the dream altogether.
Amidst the confusion, I stumbled upon a building broker. At the time, I had no idea what a building broker was or how vital their role could be to minimising stress around this process. Not only was I able to build my dream home, but I realised how much I enjoyed the entire building journey. I ended up asking my building broker for a job to learn the ropes and better understand how to help first home buyers.

There’s no point looking around for a $700,000 house or a house and land package if you can only borrow $500,000. Start with your finances – understand your budget and qualifications.
Creating a comprehensive plan involves considering your financial goals and timeframe. Do you need to save a specific amount, spend more time in your current employment, or increase your income? Research and planning are key here.
2. Working Out Your Location
With a solid financial plan in place, the next step is working out your ideal location. This step involves a balance between your budget, preferred lifestyle, and desired house size.
